Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be able to interview a hidden piece of music history in Michael Lydon. Lydon is a musician and a writer, as well as one of the founding editors of Rolling Stone Magazine.

When I first started the campaign of Norris Report interviews, I was repeatedly shot down... because I was asking the wrong people. I wanted it all. I wanted to interview the stars. But I learned two things:

1. Stars, generally, don't care because you're just another guy. And you are. They've seen hundreds of thousands of people like you (fans). And depending on the star, they've seen millions of your same kind. So why should they take time out of their day to take questions from you?

And I don't blame them. Enough terrible interviews asking the same questions that they just answered in the last interview. DISCLAIMER (to any stars that future-Connor may be interviewing): I'm all about the deep tracks, the stories, the tangled roots and the weeds. I want to have a conversation with you, one that we can both enjoy.

2. I learned that sometimes more interesting than the stars, are the people directly behind the music. The producers, the people who own the recording studios, the artists who aren't the stars, the writers, all of the above and ect... I'm both a music fan and a people fan. So with that, I like to learn and gain something positive from a conversation, whether it be with Elton John or Joe Shmo' on the corner.

So... introducing: The first of hopefully many Norris Report interviews. I had a great time talking to the very talented, the very accomplished, and most importantly, the very kind Michael Lydon.

Enjoy.
